Asia Pacific Coroners Society
Perth is delighted to be the host city for the 2016 Asia Pacific Coroners Society’s conference 8–11 November 2016.
The theme is “Pathways to Prevention”. At the conclusion of an inquest the coroner may make comments and recommendations that are aimed at preventing deaths arising in similar circumstances. Indeed, in the course of a coronial investigation from the earliest stages there are opportunities to address matters of public health or safety. This is known as the coroner's death prevention role, a matter of extraordinary social utility and a cornerstone of the coronial process. Please come and join us in Perth in November 2016 at the Asia Pacific Coroners Society's conference as the many pathways to prevention are explored.
Registration for the 2016 Asia Pacific Coroners Society will open 1 August 2016.
The Asia Pacific Coroners Society was established to promote the advancement, best practice and education of coronial law and practice.
Membership is open to all coroners and to anyone involved in, or associated with, the coronial jurisdiction, such as pathologists, forensic scientists, police investigators, lawyers, and grief counsellors.
Members of the Society are located in Australia, New Zealand, and various nations in the Asia Pacific region.
